June

It is June and FINALLY everything seems do be dry up at the cabin. We took the Nomad (trailer) back up for our summer living. The kids were thrilled to be able to get back into the Nomad. They love it. While we were driving up the mountain road, Lauryn suddenly got very excited and said "It's our mountain!!! It's our mountain!!!" I thought that was precious. It was a beautiful day and we are anxious to get some work done. Dave got horseshoes for Father's Day. We will build a horseshoe pit and hopefully the kids will play without hitting each other in the head. Maybe I will be able to help a little more this summer.
This is a look at the inside main beam. I love this ceiling.
This is a look from the back of the cabin towards where the front door will be.
This is the "pond" that sits in our little community. It is beautiful right now. It is hard to believe that by the end of the summer this will be a mud pot. I hope that because the spring was so wet that maybe it will stay more of a pond rather than a mud hole.
It is obvious that some of us fared the winter better than others. The sad part is that the first thing Clara asked for was her baby. I had already thrown it in the trash. OOOPS!!!

The big melt down

Water Water Everywhere...

Last year at this time everything was completely dry. This year there is plenty of mud and the cabin is FULL of water. Dave spent a whole day pumping the water out so it could dry. I am grateful that I decided to stay home with the kids. What a mess.

The cabin survived a pretty harsh winter. The roof held up great and we are hoping to have it all dried in by the end of the summer.
